Kyra Legler In Progress Ohmigosh Sweet *SOLD*

Thursday, April 9, 2015

Sorry for the dark picture but this baby is so sweet! Team Cinnamon Charm, lol! Well, actually she is Cinnamon Charm with Cacao Silk blush-- at least that's what her chart says. I don't remember painting her blush at all, lol! I can't believe how long I have been working on her. She is a private order from last year, yikes! She is another that sat around waiting for attention while my hand healed. I have a brace on my hand now so I will get back to her rooting next week. She will have straight hair per her mommy's request.

I can see from this photo that her hairline needs work. I also need to tweak her eyebrows. Just a couple of quick fixes, no problem. Her overall coloring looks just the way it should. Nothing to change there. And oh, these are not her permanent eyes, they are plastic eyes. I have a pair of onyx brown glass on order.

I searched and searched for a Spanish style outfit for Kyra, but I only found winter styles. I decided to go with a Katie Rose boutique outfit for her. It is adorable! It will show off her cute legs and I love the headband thingy. It will look great with Kyra's straight hair. Be back soon!

Sales & Business Closing - No Private Orders

Thursday, April 9, 2015

Hi ladies! I have been contacted about private orders and I totally appreciate your inquiries, but I am no longer accepting orders, sorry. :( I have three more private orders to complete before I shut down the sales portion of this blog. I am looking forward to an updated style of doll making. This means I will have to work through several new techniques and I doubt buyers appreciate my experiments on their private orders, hehe. Remember when I took a hiatus back in 2011 and came back with Neapolitan Chiaroscuro in 2012? I'm doing that again, yippee! :)

The new “Truffle Fluff” ethnic skin technique is something I need to work on. It is going great so far, but the rubber stamp still needs testing. The “French Shell” is a promising coloring technique I began working on last month. Some have already seen my new "Square Wisp" hairline technique. These are only three techniques; I have a total of ten that need extensive testing. The tester reborn dolls will remain in my personal collection.

This blog will remain open during this tester time. I will post pictures of my tester reborns as well as updates on these new techniques. I will happily offer low-priced tutorial add-ons when the time comes. :) Be back soon!

Farewell to Julietta

Wednesday, April 1, 2015

Hi all! I shipped the little one off today, thank goodness. She sat around in a cabinet half finished for months until my hand healed. :( She's traveling to Germany to a fellow reborner named Alexa. I have not shipped a doll to Germany in years-- wait-- yes I have! I shipped Natalia to Germany last year. I can't believe I forgot about that. I loved Natalia! I am nervous about customs but I guess I shouldn't be. I just don't want customs to open the box and mess with Julietta's hair, lol! Sounds picky, but I like the hair to stay nice and neat during travel. I anchor the dolls to an interior box now so the hair stays in place.

I heard Julietta's mom will do a box opening video on Facebook. I love box openings! I am planning to have a front row seat. :) I'll also post the box packing pictures here. I still haven't posted Thomas' box packing, have I? I have a little bit of time while Kyra Legler is in the oven, yippee! Stay tuned.

Julietta arrived to Germany! Take a look at the box opening video on Facebook. Thanks so much, Alexa, for recording this video. Your kids are adorable! I am so glad the candy made them happy, lol! :):) I love your coloring and hair choices for Julietta. Enjoy!
